Crash tests are a necessary evil, helping find major flaws in the safety of an automobile. Some are more evil than others, however, like when researchers at the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) ruin a Lamborghini or Maserati in the name of safety testing.

Malibu VS Chevrolet Bel Air

This head-to-head battle between a 2009 Chevy Malibu and a 1959 Chevy Bel Air is potentially the most epic and painful to watch on the top of our list. A glorious classic car meeting it’s end against a forgettable midsize sedan would make any gear head shed a tear. Well, at least it’s good to know that cars have gotten safer in the past fifty years, even if they have gotten decidedly uglier.

Red Lambo Crashes into Wall1. 2007 Lamborghini Murciélago

The grand finale features a Lambo the can be priced well over $200,000. This 35 mile per hour test does quite a bit of damage to the Italian sports car. While public date is difficult to find on how safe this car really is, this video certainly doesn’t look reassuring.
