In a recent Mojo Motors survey of our Facebook fans, we wanted to find out their favorite camouflage brand: Realtree or Mossy Oak. There were over 400 responses and Realtree came out on top with 61% of the vote. This is good news for Chevrolet who recently showed off their 2500 HD Silverado Realtree concept. The two brands teamed up to create the “ultimate hunters truck” even though minus the custom paint job and some camouflaged accents, the truck is no different than a normal 2500 HD Silverado. Alright, we lied. The concept pickup truck has a custom winch, custom shell and over-sized tires, but other than that, it’s nearly identical to a normal 2500 Silverado.
It’s also important to remember the Chevrolet Silverado Realtree is just a concept. The Ram 1500 Mossy Oak Edition, however, is a reality. In an effort to expand their truck lineup, Ram teamed with Mossy Oak to create a pickup for the outdoor enthusiast slated to be released next year. Mossy Oak may have lost the unofficial survey on the Mojo Motors Facebook page, but they appear to have won out in the end. Not only does the Ram 1500 Mossy Oak Edition come with a green paint scheme that’s toned down compared to the Silverado Realtree Concept’s full-body graphics, it has a more refined interior finish as well. The camouflaged accents on the Ram’s bed caps and tailgate finish off the look without over doing it because it could be worse. A lot worse. For proof, take a look at the last two pictures of this post to see what happens when a camouflaged explosion occurs. The only lingering questions are, if the Mossy Oak Edition Ram sells well, will Chevrolet enter the fray and make the 2500 HD Realtree a reality? Furthermore, will Ford market their own hunting edition pickup truck? Time will tell.
