The biennial Frankfurt Motor Show, also known as the International Automobile Exhibition and International Motor Show, opens to the public today and continues running through September 25. During the past few days, automakers have been releasing a stream of concepts and new models for 2012 and beyond. This has thrown Twitter into a frenzy of #iaa hashtags and enough pictures to keep your eyes locked in place for hours. Make the jump to see what’s looking hot, not hot, and a couple in between.
Hot: Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
Look at that paint job and the red accents at the base of the windshield. Gorgeous.
Hot: Cadillac Converj ELR Concept
Why not just call it the next generation Cadillac CTS Coupe and get it over with?
Hot: Infiniti FX Sebastian Vettel Version
A white car with black wheels and smoked lights is a winning combination.
Sorta Hot, Sorta Not: VW Beetle R
It still looks like a bathtub, but now its a bathtub, err Beetle, with 266 horsepower.
Sorta Hot, Sorta Not: Ford Focus ST Wagon
It’s hot because it’s got a 6-speed manual gearbox. It’s not because it is a Ford never to be seen in the States.
Not: Land Rover DC100 Sport
Not: SsangYong XIV-1
What the…? It’s a Land Rover. It’s a Kia Soul. Nope. It’s some South Korean thing.
Not: Fisker Surf Concept
This plug-in hybrid Fisker has the profile of a Ferrari, crossover, full-size sedan and a parrot’s beak.
