How trim affects used Honda Civic prices

The Honda Civic has been one of the most Followed cars on Mojo Motors the past couple of years because it’s reliable, safe and affordable.

Shoppers considering a used Honda Civic for sale will likely find the prices to range thousands of dollars depending on the trim, whether it is an EX, EX-P, LX, etc. We took a look at the most popular Civics from the model year 2010 to find their average price and mileage. We also found out how many times they drop in price and how much before they’re sold, too.

2010 Honda Civic Coupe

$13,438 Average Price / 1 Price Drop / $1,106 Total Price Drop

The Honda Coupe is the lowest priced Civic, regardless of trim, with an average price of $13,438. The Civic coupe can be found in the DX, LX, EX and Si trims. The coupe is a bit shorter than the sedan, but boasts the same gas mileage as its four door sibling averaging 25-26 MPG city and 34-36 Highway.

2010 Honda Civic LX

$14,405 Average Price / 1 Price Drop / $858 Total Price Drop

The LX is the Civic’s utilitarian trim. No bells or whistles here, folks. The LX sports 16″ steel wheels, A/C and a manual transmission. The LX also comes with an automatic transmission for those drivers not comfortable with a stick shift. The average mileage for a used Honda Civic LX is 30,132 making it lower than all other trims.

2010 Honda Civic LX-S

$14,606 Average Price / 1 Price Drop / $738 Total Price Drop

The LX-S trim comes with one upgrade over the regular LX trim and it’s 16″ silver aluminum wheels. Yep, that’s it. Otherwise, the LX-S is virtually identical with options as the LX and comes with both an automatic and manual transmission. It also appears LX-S drivers like showing off their silver aluminum wheels because they have an average of 34,535 miles which is 4,000 more miles than the average LX.

2010 Honda Civic Hybrid

$15,197 Average Price / 1 Price Drop / $1,287 Total Price Drop

Out of all Civic trims, the hybrid has the highest average mileage at 39,037. It makes sense if you think about it. Drivers of the Civic Hybrid have better gas mileage so why not drive the fuel-sipping car more? The 1.3-liter four cylinder engine in Civic Hybrid gets over 40MPG combined. That is nearly a 10MPG improvement over non-hybrid Civics.

2010 Honda Civic EX

$15,217 Average Price / 1 Price Drops / $922 Total Price Drop

The EX is the highest-end trim available on the Honda Civic which is why it has an average price higher than all other Civics except for the Si.  All the options available on lower Civic trims are standard on the EX including fog lights, sunroof, traction control, leather interior, navigation and heated seats. Average mileage for a Civic EX is 33,686, making it less than all other trims except for the base LX trim.

2010 Honda Civic Si

$18,193 Average Price / 2 Price Drops / $1,320 Total Price Drop

The Si is the Civic’s sport trim that comes in either as a coupe or four door. The Si is more expensive than other Civic trims because it has a 2.0-liter four cylinder engine mated to a six-speed transmission that almost produces 200 horsepower. Many Si Civics are available with performance tires, 17″ wheels and navigation systems which is why the price is significantly more than other used Civics. While the price of the Si is not on par with other Civics, the average mileage is at 36,360.
