Cool used cars of the future: Tokyo Motor Show

Suzuki Regina Concept Mojo Motors Blog ImageThe Tokyo Motor Show is now open to the public and continues until December 11. Like all other auto shows, car makers are using the Tokyo Motor Show to unveil their latest concepts. The cars included below are cool. The Suzuki Regina, pictured to the right, however, is not cool. Maybe it’s the color. Maybe it’s the wheels. Maybe it’s because the car is just plain ugly. Cool used car of the future: FT-86/FR-S/BRZ STI

There’s a lot going on with the Toyota FT-86/Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ STI concepts so bear with us as we try to break it down. These three compact sports cars have been an ongoing project between Toyota and Subaru. To be clear, The Toyota FT-86 and Scion FR-S are pretty much the same car. The FR-S will be sold under the Scion nameplate in the States to appeal to Scion’s younger demographic. The FT-86, meanwhile, will be sold in Japan and other Asian markets as a Toyota. Pictured below is the Scion FR-S concept.

Cool used car of the future: Jaguar C-X75

Electric cars and plug-in hybrids aren’t typically seen as being cool cars because they’re not. The Jaguar C-X75 is an exception and a cool used car of the future for a few reasons.

  1. It’s a hybrid supercar
  2. Each wheel has its own electric engine that total up to 700+ horsepower
  3. It will be built by a Formula-1 racing team
  4. Zero to 60 MPH in under 3 seconds
  5. Top speed of over 200 MPH
