Used cars to buy this summer

The Detroit News reported the price of gas is dropping (down 3.5% from a year ago) and that is causing the price of small cars to drop too. According to the article, the average price of gas is about $3.71 and if prices stay below $4.00, car shoppers will buy trucks, SUVs and minivans. Even though used car prices are at record highs because of inventory shortages, their prices will decline if gas prices do, in fact, remain stable.

Lightweight cars that are easy to flip

Blow out candles on birthdays. Set off fireworks on the Fourth of July. Eat a turkey on Thanksgiving. There are timeless traditions that happen year after year after year. Flipping cars or burning couches during celebrations/riots is something that happens too. Tradition? Not so much. There may have not been any riots following the New York Giants Super Bowl win, but let’s say a riot did happen to break out. Signs would have been ripped out of the concrete, police officers armed with shields and batons would try to quell the madness and cars would be flipped, possibly set on fire.

Cute Baby Hippo ImageThere’s nothing good about riots, the destruction and inevitable clean-up can cost millions of dollars. However, if a riot was to break out, it should be a new tradition to only flip certain types of cars. Flipping a bread truck would be pretty epic, but that would be selfish. The darn thing is so heavy it would probably take an intricate pulley system to get it back on its wheels. If you find yourself in a swarm of people trying to overturn a car, make sure it’s lightweight and a late model. Seeing your brand new Fusion or 3-Series flipped would probably ruin your day, if not week/month. This is why we’ve compiled a list of recommended lightweight, compact cars to flip.

Except for a few vehicles we’ve included to flip out of principle for being ugly or just automotive failures, all these cars are featherweights. And by featherweights, we mean under 2,600 pounds. That’s like Walrus-light. No, it’s like baby hippopotamus-light. Keep reading for the entire list.
