The fourth-gen Altima, model years 2007-2012, along with the fifth generation Altima, model years 2013-present are among the most popular years on Mojo Motors.
Following the trends set by its heavyweight competitors like the Accord and Camry, the Nissan Altima is available with a base 2.5-liter four cylinder engine and a 3.5-liter V6. For Altimas between 2007 and 2012, the 2.5-liter four cylinder has 175 horsepower and the 3.5-liter V6 has 270. The 2.5-liter four cylinder engine came standard with a manual transmission or an optional continuously variable transmission. The four cylinder achieved a combined 27 MPG while the V6 combined for 22 MPG.
Nissan makes it easier than Toyota or Honda for shoppers to know which engine is in each of its Altimas. Their strategic trim names highlight engine size and displacement. For example, Altima trims with the four-cylinder engine always begin with 2.5 while Altima trims with the V6 always begin with 3.5.
